Who Is TFG?
 
Jim Foston is Founder and CEO of The Foston Group – Safety & Protection Solutions.  The Foston Group is dedicated to developing and promoting innovative solutions to improve the health and safety of workers in the private security industry. With 13 years’ experience as a public safety and security professional and 11 years as communications manager for the Surrey detachment of the RCMP, Jim is passionate about “protecting the protectors”. His mission is to improve the health and safety of all workers in the private security industry through training and innovation.
 
 Jim provides training and consultation to security companies, private and government sector clients, and educational institutions. Jim has created and delivered security training programs for Douglas College, Kwantlen College, BCIT, and the Open Learning Agency. He has trained over 6000 security officers. In 2010, he coordinated training of 1200 private security officers for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games Integrated Security Unit and the Toronto 2010 G8/G20 Economic Summit. Jim has also sat on several training review committees including the Canadian General Standards Board (national review of Security Professional training standards), the Justice Institute of British Columbia (review of BC Security Officer training standards) and the BC Human Rights Coalition for Security Officer Training. He is past chair of the Canadian Society for Industrial Securities – Pacific Region Chapter, a WorkSafeBC Education Partner, past national director and Honorary Lifetime Member of the Canadian Society for Industrial Security.
